Intricate, painstaking detail is featured in this rare and magnificent, hand-carved, Black Forest chalet clock, which has professionally restored woodwork. If you look closely at the chalet, you will see that the left side is an elegant, upscale version of the home that has been well cared for. The right side shows the home in its rustic state with time and the elements taking their toll.
The clock, which has an eight day movement, is in working order. Its face measures 5.5 inches in diameter. The cuckoos are no longer working, and their doors have been pinned closed. The clock does not chime. At one time, this piece had a music box, as indicated by the Gattolliat label inside the clock.
This is the largest chalet clock we have ever seen. We have provided the final picture for prospective on its size.
