The Oil Tan Leather has a beautiful look, smell and feel and is softer and more pliable than other leathers as it retains much of its moisture. It is more durable and more weather resistant than other leathers as the oil used to tan and colour the leather repels water and dirt. The oil tan leather leaves a rich colour when scratched or bent but fades after some time – making this option of leather interesting, personalised and it will age beautifully around your habits – leaving a story on the leather.
The beauty of leather is that each hide has natural markings and features, which means that each piece is unique, with its own personality.
The chairs are stitched by hand, and we embrace the characteristics and individuality of the hide we use. There might be slight colour variations. The craftsmanship and skill of the artist’s hand therefore constitutes an inherent part of the making of your particular piece, a feature we celebrate as part of the creative process.
