An exceptional Moser Biedermeier attributed Bohemian enamelled and cut glass handled ewer with gilded metal mount dating from the 19th century. This beautifully made ewer is of hexagonal shape and made in thick clear glass standing on a narrow flat hexagonal foot with a wide body and narrow neck mounted with a gilded top with hinged cover and pouring spout and with a square top shaped handle. The body of the ewer is applied to each of the six sides with a raised oval panel deep engraved with flowering roses which have been richly gilded against a red flash ground and within a richly gilded rim. The body of the ewer is finely decorated with applied scroll and leaf patterning in colored enamels set within gilded outlines. The quality of the ewer is exceptional and could also have been made by Viennese glass makers J & L Lobmeyr however has no identifying makers mark. A rare find in this wonderful original condition.
