19th century English Open Library Caddy ~ Bookshelf is a charming piece that can serve in a variety of roles throughout the home! Originally designed to be a portable bookshelf for those who had the fortune of a large library, one could place several books on the shelves and wheel it about the room to deposit in the proper place, and likewise remove other books for immediate perusal as well. Three tiers allowed one to keep things organized in the process. An excellent choice for its original intended purpose, it also serves as a great platform for any other what-nots, and thanks to its shallow depth, works in many places, even those with lots of foot traffic. Easily moves to a different location at your discretion. handcrafted from solid sycamore, it features finely turned column supports that are accented with ebonizing, with the same treatment used on the shelf edging as well as the ridges on the top that are useful as handles while maneuvering the piece.
