Antique Silver Plated Cruet Set, With Set of 5 Single Serving Glass Decanters

This beautiful Cruet set with its gorgeous shape and Edwardian curves it would make a lovely piece to add to a dinner table for a splash of sparkle when serving your guests. There is an engraving in the bottom of this of 1477. This one is particularly interesting with the small glass decanters. This would be fun to use the cruet for wine or liquors rather than the typical condiments it is known for hosting at the dinner table. A cruet set is an object that could be found on many dining tables from the 18th century. Cruet sets are thought to have originated in France before making their way to England. They became a center piece of Victorian and Edwardian tables, with a standard set containing at least four different vessels. They were particularly popular in the Victorian era and contained ‘cruets’, meaning small containers.
