Carved wood liquor cabinet called “Black Forest”. This charming liquor cabinet of the late nineteenth century is decorated with plant motifs, pine cones, saddlebags, hats, rifles, powder boxes and openworked by four cartridges in beveled glass, at the top, back and sides. The set is composed of four crystal decanters and gold nets with their stoppers, as well as sixteen small footed glasses enhanced with pampers and stylized nets painted in gold. A removable display stand with a gilded bronze handle housing the crystal is carved with floral and plant motifs. The lid has a decoration of stylized ivy branches framing a glass window. This liquor service opens with a small key and is uncovered by the top. The whole set rests on four feet toupie. The crystal liquor cabinet was an essential piece of dining room furniture between the mid-18th and mid-19th centuries.
