Vintage Design
Already in the 1930s the management decided to hire their own designers, some of which with a European background, in this way one can quickly respond to trends and wishes from the market. The brand acquires a big fame with “euro inspired” furniture in, among others, Queen Ann to Louis XV style. After the war, one of the first American manufacturers is used to use De Stijl from Scandinavia for various new collections. The furniture is of unprecedented class, in both choice of materials, design and construction. The relatively unknown designer Barney Flagg designs a very sleek and at that time extremely modern series under the name “Parallel”. The program includes various cupboards and mountain furniture, tables and a desk. The brand sells its furniture throughout America and knows how to bind a relatively young and well -to -do audience to them through smart marketing in the house and garden magazines, yet Drexel’s furniture from this series would never reach the masses in huge numbers, simply through the high Prices and high end quality. This copy.
